What is an LED?

LED stands for `light emitting diode` and are energy efficient. LED’s use at least 75 percent less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs and last 25 times longer, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

A diode is an electrical component with two terminals which conduct the electricity only in one direction. With an electrical current, the diode emits a bright light around the small bulb.

LED Signage can be split into two main areas, namely LEDs on the back of cut out aluminium letters, to create a `Halo Effect' and the second being LED strip inside fabricated or box perspex letters.

What Is A Neon Sign?
  • Neon signs are luminous-tube signs that contain neon or other insert gases at low pressure.
  • Applying a high voltage (usually a few thousand volts) makes the gas glow brightly.
  • The neon signs are produces by the craft of bending glass tubing into shapes. A worker skilled in this craft is known as a glass bender, neon or tube bender.
What Is A Backlit Light Box?
  • Backlit light boxes are a traditional style of illuminated sign made from high quality aluminium profiles making them very robust and durable.
  • These light boxes are often used for shop fascia signs.
  • The light box is made for indoor or outdoor use and has a good level of weather resistance.
  • Light boxes are supplied with one opal diffuser panel to apply self-adhesive vinyl graphics to.
What is a PVC?

PVC is a flexible sign face material used for vinyl printing applications. A PVC sign can be front-lit and backlit. The special surface coating optimises ink adhesion and colour reproduction for long-lasting brilliant prints and is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.

What is Chromadek?
  • Chromadeck is a galvanized metal sheet with one surface coloured in either a frost white, polar white, black or yellow colour.
  • Used extensively in signage and is the most durable, longest lasting method of advertising.
  • Used for long term outdoor signs.
  • It has a much longer lifetime than PVC, with greater strength.
  • Can be cut and shaped to fit custom needs of clients.
